Youth Ministry

Who we are and what we do

WHO WE ARE:

SJ23 Youth Ministry Serves the youth in our community seeking to bring youth closer to Christ; to know, love and serve Him more through ministry. We gather each Friday night in the Parish Hall from 6:00-8:00 PM and encourage youth from the community to join us each Friday night, don't forget to bring a friend! We hope to build and strengthen our relationship with God, to learn about our faith and create friendships with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

THE VISION FOR OUR MINISTRY IS:

  • Hearts on fire for the Lord.
  • Commitment to the weekly ministry.
  • Desire to learn, serve and grow.
  • Learn, pray and play as a community of believers.
  • Grow in our understanding of our faith and Jesus
  • Outreach to those who need help
  • Build a sense of mentorship amongst different age groups.
  • Create friendship based on Christ.

WHAT WE DO:

SJ23 Youth Ministry meeting night session alternate in a three-week cycle. We have a teaching activity with a lesson based on the series that we are studying. Followed by a social activity, which can include anything from game nights, cooking, movie nights to outings. Lastly, a service activity, which supports the local and greater community and can range from helping around the church, to local food banks, pen pals with the sick or imprisoned, and having fundraising events to assist those in need. We also have dinner and snacks together each time we gather!
